Obama calls for universal access to abortion
(NEW YORK – C-FAM) At United Nations (UN) headquarters this week, the Obama administration continued its push for ever increasing access to legal abortion around the world.More HERE.
His rhetoric about "reducing the number of abortions" is a smoke screen. Obama is doing exactly what he said he would do during the campaign.
If you are a Catholic or Christian and you voted for Obama knowing that he is viciously pro-abortion, you should examine your conscience and repent.

Cardinal Newman cleared for beatification
Pope Benedict XVI today cleared the way for Cardinal John Henry Newman to become a saint. The Pope issued the decree that allows the beatification of England’s most significant convert to Roman Catholicism.
Cardinal Newman, who founded the high-church Oxford Movement in the Church of England before going over to Rome in 1845, is set to become the first non-martyr saint in England since the Reformation.

Another victory for the culture of death
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Republican Sen. Norm Coleman, a pro-life advocate from Minnesota, conceded his re-election bid to pro-abortion Senate candidate Al Franken. His decision paves the way for the abortion advocates who already control the Senate to have 60 votes to promote abortion and health care rationing. Coleman originally held a lead over Franken at the end of the November 2008 election, but a recount put Franken ahead by a few hundred votes.
Despite numerous legal claims that the recount was not properly conducted, state courts sided with Franken and dealt Coleman a blow when the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that Frank won the election.
Coleman conceded the race today and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, himself a pro-life advocate who has been mentioned as a potential presidential candidate in 2012, must now sign the certification allowing Franken to represent the state in the Senate.
With Frank in the Senate, the Democratic Party now has a supermajority with which is can stop filibusters against promoting abortion or confirming pro-abortion judicial nominees like Sonia Sotomayor.
Sen. John Cornyn, a pro-life Texas Republican, noted that fact and said the abortion advocates who run the Senate will live or die by what they do.

Birth Choice comes to Long Beach
We are ecstatic! A short walk down the road from one of the worst abortion death camps in America, a pro-life medical clinic is opening up very soon. Today, about 100 pro-life apostles, Catholic and Protestant, gathered at the new site to ask God's blessing upon Birth Choice, Long Beach. We had an opportunity to tour the facility and many people wrote scripture verses on the yet unfinished walls and floors. We expect the clinic will be open in about 1 month. This is great news for unborn babies and their moms and dads! Thank you, Jesus, for making this happen. Thank you Holy Mary, St. Joseph and the Holy Innocents for your powerful intercession!
'Catholic' senator calls traditional marriage 'archaic'
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 23, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - U.S. Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), a Roman Catholic, on Sunday declared he had changed his position on same-sex "marriage," and now calls law defining marriage between a man and a woman "archaic" and "unfair."
“To my daughters, these couples are married simply because they love each other and want to build a life together," wrote Dodd on his Senate Web site. "That’s what we’ve taught them. The things that make those families different from their own pale in comparison to the commitments that bind those couples together.
"And, really, that’s what marriage should be. It’s about rights and responsibilities and, most of all, love."
Dodd said he believed that laws defining marriage as solely between a man and a woman will soon "seem as archaic, and as unfair, as the laws we once had against inter-racial marriage."
Dodd, who has a 100% NARAL pro-abortion rating, has drawn criticism for remaining active in the Catholic Church despite holding positions contradictory with fundamental Catholic teaching.
Pro-abort priestess
Episcopalian Priest, the Rev. Nina Churchman wrote a letter to Episcopal Life Online saying that women shouldn't have to ask for forgiveness for aborting a child. In fact, Rev. Churchman then goes one step further and says God rejoices in the woman's choice to abort. Here's the text in full.

At Notre Dame, a 80 year priest is arrested, a viciously pro-abortion Obama is honored
This is Clinic Violence
“A young African American girl was waiting outside the abortion mill with her boyfriend on Saturday, June 6 around 10:30 am. Apparently, her mom drove by
The following are pictures of the signs the group used that day:
(Abortion is a hundred times more violent and this group only wanted to show that truth)
This is what followed after the young girl got a call from her mother: “The young girl approached us, accusing us of 'invading her private space' by making it known to the world what actually went on inside that building.
'Thanks to these offensive signs, my mom now knows why I'm here!'
'That's between you and your mom,' I replied.
The young girl continued to rant and rave, swearing at me, yelling within inches of my face.
'What I do is none of your business!' She screamed. 'I'm here to stand for your baby,' I calmly replied.
The swearing and ranting continued. By God's grace, I remained calm. Finally, the young girl turned, walked down the sidewalk, grabbed each heavy wooden sign and threw them, one by one into the street. Thankfully, no cars were speeding down
We called the police. By then her embarrassed boyfriend decided to take her into the building. When they came, they asked us what had happened, then went in and advised her she was not to harm others' property, the counselors had every right to be out in front of the abortion mill, and it would be best if she not speak to them when she came out. The policeman then came out and advised us to refrain from speaking to her as well."
The group was to leave soon by this time; they advised the next group to go and pray not to speak to this young girl, trying their best to describe what she looked like.
Clinic violence happens inside and outside abortion mills.Caveman Style
An email was sent to me yesterday telling me about something that happened in an abortion mill just a few days ago. The email went like this:
"Please pray and get others to pray for a couple that came to the abortion clinic today (6/13/09). Something happened that I haven't seen in nearly 20 years of sidewalk counseling. It was witnessed by several sidewalk counselors. A man came up whose girlfriend was already inside the clinic. He claimed he had already tried to talk to her about the abortion but that he couldn't convince her, then he went inside.
None of us thought of it that much until maybe less than an hour later, when suddenly the door swung open and there was the man, dragging the woman by the legs as she was lying on the ground. We first thought she had been hurt by an abortion and was dying and he was trying some way to rescue her. But she turned out to be OK and fully conscious. He then helped her up as she shouted, "You're an ignorant fool! You're an ignorant fool!" He replied, "Whatever it takes for the baby." He then marched her off in a strong-arm fashion, holding her tightly on the right arm and around the waist.
He marched her in this fashion all the way down to their cars, which were parked at a considerable distance from the clinic on LB boulevard. He finally let go of her and they talked for a long time. Eventually they got in their cars and left.
Two things that were surprising are how the security guard just sat and watched this happen (I think he was as shocked as we were) and that the clinic didn't call the police. I was afraid they would be called and the guy would be arrested for trying to save his child, but they never came.
Of course, this guy can't be around the woman 24/7, so we are praying and hoping that the woman keeps the baby. Obviously the situation didn't allow us to get any names but the Lord knows them. While I don't normally condone dragging women around like in caveman images, this was a refreshing change to normally seeing men sheepishly following the women into the clinic. Even in this day and age there are fathers who are willing to step up and do what it takes to save their sons and daughters."
I was shocked to read this email and although I am overjoyed that a life was saved at least that day, I do not necessarily promote this sort of action. I do promote what this man had in mind, completely refuting to kill his own child. Yes, we hear all the time that it is a woman's choice, but when a child is conceived, it has both a mother and a father.
Please pray for this couple and for more men to stand up for their child's life.

Catholic couple refuse to abort sextuplets
A Catholic couple who had sextuplets last month have revealed how they were told by doctors to abort some of the babies.Nuala Conway, who gave birth to the first sextuplets in the UK for more than 25 years, was warned about the high risks of carrying so many children.
The first-time mother and her husband Austin were told at 14 weeks that they could terminate some of them to reduce the risk during the pregnancy.
But the former fashion store worker insisted she was putting her faith in God and wanted to go ahead.

Babies, Babies, LIFE!
The past three days have been full of blessings for our Pro Life Apostolate! On Saturday, a couple was sent to the local abortion mill after being told that their baby was dead. This mother was about 13 weeks pregnant and was praying that God would sent someone to guide her away from that horrible place. God is so great that He answered by allowing our sidewalk counselors to guide her to a pro life doctor and to safety. This has not been the first time we have heard such cases, but we have also seen how the babies are really alive most of the time. We do not know if this is the same case for this family, but we pray for that baby and for his/her family.
Then this morning, at 1 am a beautiful baby girl was born. Her young mother nine months ago went to the abortuary, lost and confused. Thanks to the many blessings from our Lord, she took our help and today we can rejoice knowing that this little girl and her mother are alive and well.
Also, later on this same morning as always our sidewalk counselors and prayer warriors were praying and counseling in front of the mill. Thankfully, again it has been one of those days were our Lord shows us His love. A young teenage girl was brought by her mother to forcibly get an abortion. Crying, the young mother entered the mill with her mother. It was not long before the young mother and grandmother came out of the mill; the young mother decided that she could not end her child's life. Although the grandmother was not happy about the decision her daughter had made, and she made this known to everyone that could hear, the young mother's decision was firm. Society does not understand that most of the time, these mothers are not as strong as this young teenage girl and are forcibly taken to an abortion mill. It is never the woman's choice but today for this young teenage mother, it was.
Let us pray for these families (and for all the ones that we do not know about), for they have chosen life and that many more follow their example.
Is Catholic News Service really Catholic?
Catholic News Service has long been viewed with a suspicious eye by “conservative” Catholic groups, but any perception that this wariness was confined to some traditionalist fringe, however, was officially put to rest earlier this year.
By January 2009, CNS’ failure to consistently apply reliably Catholic editorial standards had become so problematic that Archbishop Raymond Burke, Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura at the Vatican, was moved to take the extraordinarily bold step of criticizing CNS from Rome.
“The bishops need to look at our Catholic News Service; they need to review their coverage of [the Church’s moral and social teachings] and give some new direction,” he said.
The problems at CNS, which has been under the directorship of Editor-in-Chief Tony Spence since 2004, are well illustrated by considering the case of Pepperdine law professor Douglas Kmiec.
In the months leading up to the recent U.S. Presidential election, Kmiec — a Catholic — not only campaigned for Barack Obama, he became the self-appointed spokesperson for moral relativists everywhere by publically insisting that Obama’s pro-abortion agenda fits comfortably within authentic Catholic social doctrine.
Naturally, Kmiec’s views drew the criticism of a number of American bishops, including Archbishop Charles Chaput who said that Kmiec had “done a disservice to the Church, confused the natural priorities of Catholic social teaching, and provided an excuse for some Catholics to abandon the abortion issue.”
Kmiec has since established himself as the Obama Administration’s chief Catholic apologist, rankling the pro-life community by applauding the nomination of pro-abortion Catholic Kathleen Sebelius to head the Department of Health and Human Services and offering praise for the President’s decision to overturn the “Mexico City Policy” thereby forcing American taxpayers to fund overseas abortions.
Based on this brief snapshot alone it is painfully obvious that Kmiec’s agenda is the antithesis of the Council’s vision for a media intent on “advancing public opinion in accord with Catholic teaching and precepts” (IM 14).
How then can anyone explain why Catholic News Service — an organ of the USCCB — would grant Kmiec’s opinions a de facto Imprimatur by syndicating his columns for distribution to Catholic publications all over the world?

Former abortion 'pioneer' speaks about George Tiller's death
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Former abortion practitioner Bernard Nathanson, who has since converted to the pro-life position, was a former mentor of George Tiller, the slain late-term abortion practitioner. In a new interview, Nathanson said he was surprised that Tiller never became pro-life himself because of new medical technologies. Nathanson is no stranger to the abortion industry, having done more than 75,000 abortions himself during the 1960s and 1970s and presiding over one of the nation's premier pro-abortion groups, NARAL.
He earned widespread praise from the pro-life movement for his movie "Silent Scream" which showed the advancement in ultrasound technology and how an abortion destroys human life.
"I knew George Tiller years ago when I was on the pro-abortion side," he told the Washington Times. "He came to a course I was giving in the technique of abortion in New York in 1970 under the auspices of NARAL. And I did late-term abortions until I changed my opinion as of 1980."
"My switch to pro-life had nothing to do with religion," he told the newspaper.
"Tiller was a church-going man, which doesn't say a whole lot in this country, but one wonders why he never changed his mind based on the scientific evidence. That is where I changed my mind, based on fetoscopies and ultrasound studies," Nathanson added.
"Once we had ultrasound in place, we could study the fetus and see it was a member of our community. If you don't do that, you're just a creature of political ideology. In 1970, there were approximately 1,100 articles on the functioning of the fetus. By 1990, there were 22,000. The data piled up swiftly and opened a window into the womb," Nathanson continued.
The former abortion practitioner admitted to the Times that he, too, could have been shot had he continued to do abortions.
"Yes, that is correct," he said. "But I wasn't."

'St. George Tiller, Martyr'
From the Washington Times, quoting late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart:"This is the equivalent of Martin Luther King being assassinated. This is the equivalent of Pearl Harbor, the sinking of the Lusitania and any other major historic event where we've tolerated the intolerable for too long."
[chop]
In fact, Carhart went so far as to say Tiller did the Lord's work, according to the Washington Times:
"God gave that fetus a 'guardian ad litem' when he chose the mother that fetus is born with," he said. "That mother, I feel, has been charged by God to make the right choices for that child during its unborn and early born years."
The portrait Carhart invoked was one of babies now in heaven thankful that Tiller aborted them. So someone should have eulogized:
"Martin Luther King, move over. Dr. George Tiller is going to need a lot of room to hug those grateful 60,000 babies he killed."

Tiller abortuary closed for good
Late-term abortionist George Tiller is being hailed as a martyr by his family and the filthy rich abortion industry. He was shot to death in an abortion-friendly church by a deranged individual.
The blame, however, is being placed on peaceful and law abiding pro-lifers everywhere. The media will continue to paint us as "domestic terrorists" and perpetrators of violence against courageous "health care workers" (who on a daily basis violently dismember children in utero).
Even though the entire pro-life community condemned the murder of George Tiller, this fact will be lost on most people.
The real "clinic violence" is on the inside.
It is sad that George Tiller's life came to such a tragic end. But at least no more babies will die at Tiller's Kansas abortuary.

If confirmed, Sotomayor very likely to uphold Roe
Sotomayor met with pro-abortion Sen. Diane Feinstein on Tuesday and the lawmaker said she felt comfortable that the appeals court judge supports Roe as precedent. Yesterday, pro-abortion Sen. Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat who met with Sotomayor late Wednesday, said the same thing.
"I was very pleased that the judge indicated that in the past that she has had a great respect for precedent and that Roe v. Wade is established law," Wyden told reporters, according to a Politico report.
Wyden says he asked specifically about the issue of abortion and the controversial Supreme Court case and "she acknowledged the importance of precedent."
"She made that very clear," Wyden said.
President Obama, who is pro-abortion, has also noted he is comfortable with Sotomayor's abortion position.
Ann Coulter exposes the illogic of 'pro-choice'
In that same 36 years, more than 49 million babies have been killed by abortionists. Let's recap that halftime score, sports fans: 49 million to five.
Meanwhile, fewer than 2 million Muslims live in America and, while Muslims are less murderous than abortionists, I'm fairly certain they've killed more than five people in the United States in the last 36 years. For some reason, the number "3,000" keeps popping into my head.
So in a country that is more than 50 percent pro-life -- and 80 percent opposed to the late-term abortions of the sort performed by Tiller -- only five abortionists have been killed. And in a country that is less than 0.5 percent Muslim, several dozen Muslims have killed thousands of Americans.
But the killing of about one abortionist per decade leads liberals to condemn the entire pro-life movement as "domestic terrorist s." At least liberals have finally found some terrorists they'd like to send to Guantanamo.
Tiller bragged about performing 60,000 abortions, including abortions of viable babies, able to survive outside the mother's womb. He made millions of dollars performing late-term abortions so gruesome that only two other abortionists -- not a squeamish bunch -- in the entire country would perform them.
[chop]
Tiller was protected not only by a praetorian guard of elected Democrats, but also by the protective coloration of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America -- coincidentally, the same church belonged to by Tiller's fellow Wichita executioner, the BTK killer.
The official Web page of the ELCA instructs: "A developing life in the womb does not have an absolute right to be born." As long as we're deciding who does and doesn't have an "absolute right to be born," who's to say late-term abortionists have an "absolute right" to live?
I wouldn't kill an abortionist myself, but I wouldn't want to impose my moral values on others. No one is for shooting abortionists. But how will criminalizing men making difficult, often tragic, decisions be an effective means of achieving the goal of reducing the shootings of abortionists?
Following the moral precepts of liberals, I believe the correct position is: If you don't believe in shooting abortionists, then don't shoot one.

'Clinic' violence is on the inside
Click on the pic to see. This pic shows a paramedic entering Family Planning Associates in Long Beach, one of the few remaining abortion mills that does "Tiller" style late term abortions.
'Tiller the baby killer' is buried
Mourners alternatively laughed and dabbed their eyes as the victim's four grown children -- three daughters and a son -- remembered him.The crowd fell silent, and then erupted in applause, after Tiller's widow, Jeanne, delivered a solo rendition of "The Lord's Prayer," dedicated to "my best buddy and the love of my life."
Tiller had been serving as an usher and his wife was singing in the choir when he was killed at the Reformation Lutheran Church.

Black genocide
“The women going into this clinic are not fully informed on this issue because our pastors have been horribly silent on abortion,” he told The Catholic Voice. “They’ll preach about the cost of discipleship, but in America today you’ve got to be willing to pay the cost of discipleship.”That “cost of discipleship” — a term borrowed from theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, whose open criticisms of Adolf Hitler led to his execution in a Nazi concentration camp — is a real risk for pastors in many Protestant churches where “you can get voted out of your pulpit on the same day you preach,” Hoye said. “So when I talk to these pastors, I know what I’m asking them to do. I’m asking them to risk their jobs.”
Yet there is much more at stake. African Americans, he pointed out, are the “number one customers” of abortion clinics today. Although blacks account for only 12 percent of the U.S. population, 37 percent of all abortions in this country are performed on black women. With a live-birth rate lower than the mortality rate, Hoye said, there will be no black Americans left by the year 2100.
“Between 1882 and 1968, the Klan lynched 3,446 black folk. Abortion kills more than that in the African-American community in just three days,” he stated.

You just never know!
Yesterday afternoon we found out about two lives being saved from an abortion, Justina (alias) and her child. Although many counselors had been there, none had any idea that this young Hispanic woman had made the right decision.Justina went to the mill along with her husband, Agustin (not their real names). Our counselors approached them, they in turn listened very politely but in the end they still inside the mill. Our counselors and prayer warriors continued with their prayers for them though.
Only one counselor stayed behind after those that had talked to them had left. It was this counselor that saw them come out and approached them to see if they needed help after an abortion. This of course was unnecessary as they informed him that they had decided to keep their child after all.
Month of the Sacred Heart
The Month of June (Overview - Calendar) is dedicated to the Sacred Heart. This year the Feast of the Sacred Heart falls on June 19. The Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Friday following the second Sunday after Pentecost. In addition to the liturgical celebration, many devotional exercises are connected with the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Of all devotions, devotion to the Sacred Heart was, and remains, one of the most widespread and popular in the Church.More from CatholicCulture.org

So much for dialogue; Obama nominates Sotomayor to Supreme Court
I oppose the nomination of Judge Sotomayor to the United States Supreme Court because Judge Sotomeyer supports judicial activism and making policy from the bench. I believe that laws should reflect the will of the people and not the opinion of a judge.
- 82% of Americans DO NOT want a justice who would support late-term or partial birth abortion.
- 69% of Americans DO NOT want a justice who would oppose parental involvement laws.
- A MAJORITY of Americans consider themselves to be pro-life.
Another activist judge on the Court will undoubtedly vote to uphold existing abortion rulings and to overturn reasonable pro-life policies that promote and protect life, thus Sonia Sotomayor the wrong choice for the United States Supreme Court.
Please vote against her nomination HERE.
This petition will be sent to members of the United States Senate and to President Obama, and is sponsored by Organized for Life's Action PAC.
A time to weep ...
